The City of Oshawa has published its Thanksgiving Day service changes, announcing that Service Oshawa and City Hall will be closed on Monday, October 12, while customer service representatives will be available at Service Oshawa on Saturday, October 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be no waste collection on Thanksgiving Day; for the remainder of the week, collection moves one day later than the regular schedule, and residents are asked to have waste at the curb by 7 a.m. on their collection day. City recreation facilities will operate on modified hours on October 12 — Delpark Homes Centre open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended arena rental hours until 11 p.m., Harman Park Arena running ice rentals from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and all other facilities closed — and all registered recreation programs will be cancelled.
