Jennifer Morozowich and her husband Ivan have launched a GoFundMe campaign to create the Patricia Whaley Memorial Bursary at Durham College in Oshawa, honouring Jennifer's mother. Patricia Whaley was a beloved Durham College professor who died in September 2024 after a four-year battle with cancer, according to the campaign page.

The family aims to raise $25,000 to establish a permanent bursary supporting Durham College students who face financial barriers to education, with a focus on single mothers and students working hard to build a better future despite difficult circumstances. 'For Patricia, helping people wasn't something she did occasionally. It was part of who she was,' the campaign page says.

The family says there is no pressure to donate, noting 'we know life is expensive,' and that every contribution helps continue Patricia's legacy. Donations are being collected through the GoFundMe campaign 'A Bursary in Memory of Patricia Whaley.'
