Ontario Tech welcomed more than 400 alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members to campus on October 3 for Community Day, a new signature event combining the spirit of Homecoming with the energy of the Chancellor's Challenge, the university says.

The Chancellor's Challenge — a five-kilometre run, walk and roll through the north Oshawa campus — raised more than $176,000 for scholarships, bursaries and innovation in education. Launched by Chancellor Mitch Frazer in 2021, the flagship fundraiser has now raised close to $900,000, and donations remain open until Saturday, October 31.

Visitors explored the Aquatic Toxicology Lab, Nursing Simulation Lab, Brilliant Catalyst, the Retro Room, the Criminological Research Advancing Racial Equity Lab and the Creators4Change Studio, showcasing the university's "Tech with a Conscience" vision and its fundraising campaign of the same name.
