Ontario Tech assistant professor Dr. Emilia King has seen her 2022 investigative podcast Catch Him if You Can adapted into a four-part Crave Original documentary, Fool Me Once: Hunting Marcel Vautour, on which she served as executive and associate producer.

The podcast, co-created through Pink Moon Studio with Dr. Maggie Reid and Evan C. King, followed the case of alleged serial romance scammer Marcel Vautour; information uncovered through the project contributed to a police investigation.

King says the adaptation underscores creators' accountability to contributors when a story moves to national television — consent, who benefits, who may be harmed. Those principles inform her teaching, her work with Ontario Tech's Creators4Change Studio and the new Master of Social Media Communication in Online Creators program she helped design.
