Durham Regional Police say residents can expect a heavy police presence in Oshawa on Wednesday, October 7, for a scheduled training exercise, according to an advisory the service posted online early Wednesday morning, as reported by Oshawa This Week.

The exercise is taking place in the area of Stevenson Road North and Fairglen Avenue, near the Canadian Tank Museum, with a large number of officers on site. Police did not say what time the training would occur, which units are involved, or what officers will be doing.

Residents are simply being advised of the heavy police presence; police issued no specific guidance for the public beyond that notice.
