The City of Oshawa has unveiled a new temporary outdoor history exhibition at Alexandra Park, created in partnership with the Oshawa Museum, celebrating the park's 120-year history, the city announced October 5.

Alexandra Park was established in 1906 as Oshawa's first public park, created to give the community a much-needed outdoor gathering place, and quickly became a hub of activity for the growing city.

The exhibition highlights the Indigenous history of the area, the community's effort to create the park, the Southern Ontario Agricultural Fair once held there, generations of sports and everyday play, and the history of the neighbouring nursing school that trained generations of local nurses.
