Lakeridge Health and Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences announced the Durham Region partnership on September 1, 2026.
The organizations plan to work together on research, education, workforce training, clinical innovation, patient-outcome measurement and advocacy for patients and families.
They also intend to explore new approaches to emergency mental-health care and smoother transitions between hospitals and community services. Ontario Shores said Durham residents account for 35% of its inpatients.
