On September 7, Durham Regional Headquarters and several Regional offices, counters, clinics and child-care services will be closed. Durham Region Transit will use a weekend schedule, its Ajax customer service desk will close, and the Specialized Services line will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Regional homelessness outreach will continue. Water sample drop-off and pickup will be unavailable on Friday, September 4 at sites in Whitby, Port Perry, Uxbridge and Bowmanville, with the regular schedule resuming Tuesday, September 8 at 8:30 a.m.
In Clarington, municipal offices, the operations depot, animal shelter and recreation facilities will close September 7, while Orono Park Pool will offer a public swim from noon to 5 p.m. Municipal law enforcement and public works staff will remain on duty for urgent requests.
The Township of Scugog municipal office, fire administration office and arena will close September 7 and reopen during standard hours September 8. The available section of the arena lot will be used for fair parking from Saturday through Monday, while the unfenced west lot remains open to the public.
Whitby facilities will close September 7 except Port Whitby Marina, which will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be no waste collection that day, and scheduled pickups will move one day later; library locations will be closed September 6 and 7, with returns and digital content still available.
