On September 30, 2026, West Division received a call about a vessel on Lake Ontario that appeared to be in distress. Members of the DRPS Marine Unit, who were conducting training exercises on the lake, responded to the call.
Officers located the small aluminum vessel a considerable distance from shore, where it was having difficulty navigating rough waters. Two DRPS Marine Unit vessels safely escorted the vessel and its three occupants to shore.
