The Region of Durham says Liberty Street North, between Longworth Avenue and Bons/Freeland Avenue, will close from September 9 to December 31 for the first phase of work on a new roundabout. Unfavourable weather may affect the schedule.

Traffic will be directed to Longworth Avenue, Bowmanville Avenue and Taunton Road. Businesses in the construction area are expected to remain open.

Route 502 will detour from September 9 through December 1 using Mearns Avenue, Freeland Avenue and Liberty Street. Stops along Longworth Avenue and Liberty Street will not be served, with temporary stops available along Mearns Avenue and Freeland Avenue.
