Mayor Shaun Collier has announced the passing of former Ajax Councillor Randy Low, in a statement issued Oct. 20.

Low was elected to Ajax Council in 2000 and served as Ward 3 Local Councillor until 2003, a period of significant growth for the town. The mayor's statement credits him with helping guide municipal investments that continue to benefit residents, including the expansion of the McLean Community Centre and the construction of the Salem Road/Highway 401 interchange.

"I extend my sincere condolences to Randy's family and friends," Collier said. Town of Ajax flags will be lowered to half-mast on a day supported by his family.
