The City of Pickering notice dated September 24 lists the closure at the Glenanna Road and The Esplanade North intersection through Wednesday, September 30, and says The Esplanade North will be closed to approximately 75m east of Glenanna Road.
The city identifies the purpose as sanitary sewer installation and restoration. The notice lists vehicle and pedestrian detours and applicable signage. Access to the Health Services Centre at 1885 Glenanna Road is from Glenanna Road via Kingston Road.
A separate notice from Durham Region Transit says Glenanna Road is closed between Kingston Road and Pickering Parkway and lists changes through Friday, September 25, for Routes 112, 118, 121, 211, 917, 920B, PULSE 900B and PULSE 916.
Durham Region Transit says westbound PULSE 900B, PULSE 916 and 920B trips detour via Valley Farm Road and Pickering Parkway; Stop 1607 and the south-side Stop 1915 are not served, with a temporary stop on Valley Farm Road southbound at Kingston Road. Routes 112, 118, 121, 211 and 917 detour via Kingston Road, Valley Farm Road and Pickering Parkway, and all stops along the detour are served.
As of the city’s September 24 notice, the road closure runs to September 30, while the DRT notice gives September 25 as the end date for its listed bus detours. The DRT notice does not confirm transit routing after September 25; passengers should check DRT’s service alerts for any later update.
