On October 7, 2023, members of West Division responded to a residence near Windsor Avenue and Elm Street in Ajax for a well-being check after concerns were raised about the welfare of an elderly woman and the possibility of elder abuse, according to DRPS.
Based on information provided by the victim, investigators from the DRPS Older Adult Support Investigative Services Unit commenced an investigation into allegations of fraud and theft, leading to charges against an Oshawa man.
